Reid for Jenkinson
If he wants to go and Arsenal want him surely a no brainer swap deal??? Then bring in Lewis Dunk or that Bunn from the championship for a couple of million.

A Striker replacement for Zarate on Loan

Out Vaz Te, O'Brien, Morrison, Jarvis and possibly Nolan(although unlikely as club captain), bring some more young blood such as Hendrie at Hamilton.

Dont need to spend millions job done

"they're decent players but the sky won't collapse when they move on."

It might if calamity cunt O'Brien is our first choice right back.

I don't get what business we do as long as we sign up Carlton "The Goal" Cole for another three years. let's get the priority business sorted first right?

Theoretical Hoops? and there was me thinking these were actually real hoops we need to navigate like some sort of school obstacle race.

Fan 1 - Hey did you ever sign that player from Arsenal?

Fan 2 - Nah, we thought it was a done deal but it got tangled up in the cargo net.

Re: Reid for Jenkinson
The highly likely reality is that we end up with neither Reid or Jenkinson come next season. Reid will leave, and Arsenal will want too much for Jenkinson. Let's not be dribbling fanboys about it - they're decent players but the sky won't collapse when they move on.

Re: Reid for Jenkinson
The paper talk I read said they wanted £8m.

These swap deals, in reality, hardly ever happen ever. Because they are so fucking complicated to set up - there are so many theoretical hoops to have to jump through. Almost always better all round to do the deals separately if at all.

Looking realistically at it, we have Jenkinson and Reid until the Summer regardless. It's actually not the worst spot to be in.

Trippier is a good call.

We'll end up with Glen Johnson once Jenkinson goes back.

Mark my words.

Re: Reid for Jenkinson
This won't happen. Arsenal are in no rush to sell Jenkinson and would probably want £6m for him.

I've been really impressed with Cresswell, so I wouldn't mind us going for someone like Byram from Leeds or Trippier from Burnley when they get relegated.

FOMB

because they may at him now not in May

I assume in any such deal we#d have to pay cash on top

Re: Reid for Jenkinson
Depends how much and how urgently they want Reid. If the supposition is true they are prepared to pay 4 mill now, then it's a valid point.

If they are content to wait until the end of the season then of course Jenkinson is out of that equasion, whether we sign him then or not.

Re: Reid for Jenkinson
Yeah, if he wants to go to Arsenal let's force them to pay money now, and hand over one of their players....

Cos the ball is in our court ain't it?

And Arsenal wouldn't wait until the summer, not pay any money for him, and get their player back from loan.

Re: Reid for Jenkinson
Why would Arsenal swap an under contract player for a player they can have for free at the end of the season?

Frankie Bunn from Oldham?

Now there's a name I have not even thought of for 1 second in about 20 years!
